In-home physical therapy for neck and shoulder pain

Work on stiffness, reach and posture where you actually use your neck and shoulders every day: at your desk, in your kitchen, behind the wheel.

How in-home physical therapy can help

Neck and shoulder pain can make simple things hard: turning to check a blind spot, reaching a high shelf, getting comfortable at night.

Your therapist will look at how your neck, upper back and shoulders work together, then build a plan to improve range of motion, strength and comfort.

  • Restoring range of motion for turning and reaching
  • Strengthening the muscles that support the shoulder blade and rotator cuff
  • Adjusting your workstation, chair or sleep setup at home
  • Gentle hands-on techniques where appropriate
  • Posture strategies that fit your real routine

What a 45-minute session may include

  • Assessment of neck and shoulder movement
  • Hands-on treatment and mobility exercises
  • Strengthening with bands or light weights
  • Practice reaching and lifting in your own kitchen or closet

Who this is for: People with a stiff or sore neck, shoulder pain when reaching, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff problems, or pain linked to posture.

Every plan is based on an individual evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. Results vary from person to person, and physical therapy isn't right for every condition.

Questions about neck & shoulder pain

Can physical therapy help a frozen shoulder?

Physical therapy is commonly used for frozen shoulder to help maintain and improve movement over time. Recovery is often gradual, and your therapist will explain what to expect.

What if my arm feels numb or tingly?

Tell your therapist. Numbness, tingling or weakness can sometimes come from the neck. Sudden weakness, facial drooping or trouble speaking are signs of a possible stroke: call 911 right away.
